It was one of those things that it’s easy to make fun of. One of the things I remember about Heath is, like everyone kept approaching us at the time to make a joke and like go on a show and do some character… Like, I remember even that year at the Academy Awards, we were asked to do something where we were joking about it and he was like, ‘I’m not joking about it. It’s not funny to me.’ And at the time, I was like, ‘What do you mean, man? Let’s make fun– it’s always fun to make fun of yourself’ and he was like ‘No. I’m not making fun of it, it’s not funny to me.’ You know? ‘This is important.’ At the time, I really didn’t recognize how important it was to not really make fun of it.
